FAQ
When will I get my photos?
Your will receive an online gallery link with all your photos within 4 weeks for portrait sessions and 12 weeks for wedding galleries - sometimes sooner! Any changes to turnaround time will be communicated at booking.
How many pictures will I receive?
The number of images is based on the package you select. A basic portrait package includes 20 digital images. Package upgrades are available after a session and additional images will be available for purchase.
A wedding with 8 hours of coverage should expect 350+ images. All viable images are included in wedding packages.
Do you travel?
I am based in Winchester, Kentucky and primarily serve Fayette and Clark counties. For destinations within reasonable driving distance, I charge a travel fee based on the federal mileage reimbursement rate. For events or weddings requiring an overnight stay, I require flight/rental car and hotel accommodations. If interested in a destination wedding or portrait session, please contact me to discuss my availability.
What's your style?
I'm so glad you asked! I consider my photography style real life, enhanced. I take a documentary approach in all of my sessions and weddings, and love a good candid. I edit in a style that is honest to the scene and emotion. I do not use presets on my images. Every image you receive has been individually retouched for best possible quality.
What rights do I have to my images?
Your release gives you the rights to reproduce and print high-resolution images for personal use. Images may not be used for commercial or editorial purposes without written consent from Sarah Caton. According to US Copyright Law, Sarah Caton retains the copyright to all images as creator.
The images provided are licensed to you for personal purposes only, including but not limited to: printing, copying, emailing, and web publishing. This license does not include use that results in financial gain, including but not limited to: advertising, stock photography, print sale profits, or resale of any nature.
You may not under any circumstances alter, edit or change images which includes but is not limited to photo editing apps and filters. At times, these images may appear as part of my professional portfolio unless client specifies otherwise.
Can I have the unedited images?
I do not provide clients with any unedited images or film negatives. They are not available for viewing or purchase and those not chosen for editing will not be retained after your gallery has been delivered. You wouldn't ask your caterer to give you extra ingredients used to prepare your reception meal! Same process applies.
Do you have location suggestions?
Absolutely! If you're not sure where you'd like your photos taken, I have many suggestions in the Central KY area. For sessions with three people or fewer, you may use my studio in Clark County.
Some locations require a permit for professional photo sessions. Any location requiring fee will be charged as a fee reimbursable to the photographer.
Do you have insurance?
You bet! I'm married to my insurance agent, after all. I'm covered, as well as my gear, when shooting your event.
When should I book?
As soon as you're able! I book portrait sessions up to four months in advance and events/weddings longer than four hours up to one year in advance. To hold your date, a session deposit is required based on the total fee. All fees are due in full before your scheduled session.
